Isn't HypnoBirthing all a bit 'woo woo'?

Updated: Nov 20

Want to know that most common response I get to ‘have you consider HypnoBirthing’?

“Mmh, thanks but no thanks – I’m not really into that ’woo woo’ kind of stuff.”

Well that would have been my response when I was first pregnant too!

Let’s just put it out there – HypnoBirthing is a pretty rubbish name to describe what I do and what the course is all about.

The course was developed by Maire Mongan over 3 years ago, with the dream that every, woman, everywhere, would know the joy of a truly safe, comfortable, and satisfying birth for herself and her baby. That doesn’t seem so ‘woo woo’.

It is education, tools, techniques & support that give you the best chance at the birth you want. A complete antenatal education program designed to empower and inform parents. Delivered as a:

- 12.5hr course

- Five modules taught live (online) weekly

- 2.5hr class per modules

There are many prenatal programs available, but not all are recognized and supported by Australian College of Midwives and delivered in over 47 countries worldwide. Not only that, the course is practiced as the preferred education program in many major hospitals throughout Australia – Including the Royal Women’s in Melbourne, Freemason Epworth Melbourne, Gold Coast University Hospital, Sydney’s North Shore Hospital plus many more. So perhaps not so ‘woo woo’.

The program is EVIDENCED BASED, that means founded on real scientific research and focuses on the body’s natural instinctive ability to birth.

Did you know one third of women experience trauma in birth? This DOES NOT need to be your experience. Find out today how partaking in prenatal education can reduce your risk of…

  • General medical intervention

  • Caesarean section

  • Induction

  • Drugs in labour

Would you love…

  • For your partner to feel engaged & excited about their role in the experience?

  • The chance of a shorter labour?

  • Higher rate of breastfeeding success?

And most importantly - to feel heard, understood & respected?

If you answered yes to any of these, well then maybe HypnoBirthing is your kind of thing.

I would like to acknowledge the land on which I reside and work is the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri and Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation and I pay my respects to elders past, present and future. I also acknowledge that their cultural and spiritual connection to land are still as important to the Wurundjeri and Bunurong people today.
